Fall is here in Chicago and that means apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and corn mazes. If you live in the area or are planning to visit, I hope you find this list helpful. I’ve organized the list around the counties each attraction is located and included a couple of videos from the locations that have been shared to give you an idea of what you can expect.
McHenry County
Prairie Sky Orchard

We are a small family owned business with about 2500 small dwarf apple trees. Our aim is to grow a delicious, nutritious apples whether you pick them from the trees or buy them bagged in the barn.
The apples that are bagged in the barn are picked from the tops of our apple Trees. The Barn will be beautiful with all our great Gourmet foods, and delightful fall decorations for sale. Our Hot Dog Kiosk will be serving Hot Dog, Apple Slices with carmel and nuts. APPLE CIDER DONUTS, slices of Pie, Starbucks Coffee, Hot Chocolate & Hot/Cold Cider.
Tom’s Farm Market

Tom’s has been a family owned and operated farm for more than 40 years. Our farm operation consists of growing the freshest vegetables on our local farm and growing flowering annuals and perennials in our 80,000 square feet of production greenhouses.
Richardson’s Adventure Farm

We now have over 30 activities and we are adding more and more each year! You will find plenty of things to do even if you are 3 years old, teenage, 20-something, 30-something, and older! There are 3 different pedal cart tracks –one for each age group. Two jumping pillows so the big kids and adults don’t run into the littler kids. The under 48” tall kids have their own fenced in, secure area with lots of fun things to do.

Cosley Zoo

Taking in the beautiful fall colors at Cosley Zoo is a must do! Come see the animals in the crisp fall air, listen to the squeals of excitement from the children conquering the straw pyramid or finding their way through the corn stalk tunnel, and take in the thousands of pumpkins scattered on the zoo’s lawn.
Sonny Acres Farm

During the month of October the celebration of harvest time spreads over a large area of Sonny Acres. Decorated with mountainous piles of pumpkins, visitors to the farm will discover a farm market, spook house, costume shoppe and all sorts of Halloween displays and attractions scattered about.
