Holiday Cookies & Family Time

It is no secret that modern parents don’t get to see enough of their children. The dual income household is no longer a luxury. It is now a necessity for many families to have both parents working in order to cover the bills, or at least most of them. Our family is no different. I work a lot. Even more so now that she is on unpaid maternity leave. That’s why when the winter holiday break started I made sure to enjoy as much time with my family as I possibly could.

Here is a nearly eight minute video of our experience one night over break making holiday gingerbread cookies. I got the wrong sort of icing supplies so the decorating part isn’t as pretty as Abigail expected. I also realized in the middle of the process that I had recently thrown out our old wooden rolling-pin and not yet replaced it. That explains the Solemn Oath Brewery beer bottle in the video being used as a rolling-pin. Great second use of a cleaned glass bottle right? We all, however, had fun spending time together as a family. I hope you enjoy watching this at least half as much as we enjoyed making it.
