That One Time I Met Robin Williams and Made Him Laugh

I’ve been a fan of Robin Williams since I was little. Movies like Hook, Aladdin and Jumanji are part of my childhood that I will never forget. They helped form the sense of humor I have today. Fast forward a few years to movies like World’s Greatest Dad, The Final Cut, RV, Insomnia and many others, one can see how incredibly talented an actor and comedian the man was.

My wife and I were able to attend a taping for his “Weapons of Self Destruction” DVD at the Rosemont, IL stop in October of 2009. We got meet & greet passes as part of the evening festivities. After Robin did his stand-up performance we were ushered backstage and got in line for a chance to meet the man, get autographs and a photo. He was very pleasant to meet, and seemed very humble and introspective as we interacted for a short time. I even made him laugh with a terrible Mork impression.
