Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo
Visiting the Zoo Lights at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo is one of our annual traditions. We skip it when the winter’s are too cold to be outside at night comfortably for very long. This year, however, the December nights have been gorgeous for strolling around the zoo.
We took a trip to the zoo earlier this month. Mr. Dude had a blast! Here he is watching a light show and chowing down on some popcorn. Yes, he needed a tissue, but that was a constant battle the whole night.
Family photo! We had to bribe him with popcorn to get the smile, but it worked.
This was Mr. Dude the whole night.
The official promotional video gives a pretty great overview of the night if you’ve never been. The event is sponsored by ComEd and PowerShares QQQ so its free to attend. If you don’t walk or take public transit to the zoo you’ll need to only pay for parking… and of course snacks if you want popcorn, beer or hot chocolate. The lights are still going through January 3, 2016 if you can make it out for a visit. You’re family will love it!
