I love carving pumpkins. It’s a thing we do. However, every year I struggle to figure out what I should do with my used pumpkins after Halloween ends. We’ve cooked with them, but that’s so much work. We’ve just thrown them out, but I feel bad about wasting them. This year, we’re taking them to Medieval Times’ Schaumburg Castle.
Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament will be collecting post-Halloween Jack O’ Lanterns for use in its Knights’ combat training. For every past-peak pumpkin turned in at the Schaumburg Castle between Nov. 1 and Nov. 4 (National Pumpkin Destruction Day, yes that’s a thing), Medieval Times will reward the bearer with a 40 percent-off voucher for an adult ticket to the popular entertainment venue. Additionally, for the first 200 pumpkins received, Medieval Times will donate a complimentary ticket to USO of Illinois for distribution to local military families.

Ready-to-be-discarded pumpkins can be turned in for discount ticket vouchers at the Medieval Times management office, 9 am to 5 pm, on Thursday, Nov. 1, and Friday, Nov. 2, or the Castle’s main entrance, starting one hour prior to show times. Main entrance drop-offs will be accepted: 6:30 – 8 pm, Thursday, Nov. 1, and Friday, Nov. 2; 3:30 – 8 pm, Saturday, Nov. 3, and 3:30 – 5 pm, Sunday, Nov. 4.
Vouchers are valid for all performance thru the end of February and are redeemable for $25.95 off adult tickets, bringing the price for a four-course dinner and tournament to just $36.00. Vouchers may not be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer and are not valid on prior purchases.

We attended a couple years ago with Wesley and he loved it. We’re looking forward to going again soon and introducing Theodore to the adventure within those castle walls.
