Veronica Mars (2019): The Complete First Season now on DVD and Blu-ray

Disclaimer: Warner Brothers sent me the DVD set of Veronica Mars (2019): The Complete First Season to review.

My first exposure to Veronica Mars was this most recent release. I knew nothing more than that Kirsten Bell, the show’s lead, was a private detective before starting the 2019 season. The show had some inside jokes and references I missed, but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the show for me.

It’s a cheesy, romantic, and sometimes just a little bloody. Throw in a shock or two and this season has me hooked on Veronica Mars. I can’t wait for the next season to come out (not yet confirmed), and to go back and watch the first three seasons (available on Hulu) and movie (purchasable on Amazon).

Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
