Amerika, I’m Disappointed In You…

I believed better of Amerika back in 2024. I didn't love Harris as a candidate, but knew then (and now) that she was the far better choice to Trump. The shock has turned into fear, then numbness, and now it is birthing rage.

Abigail and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary earlier this month. I find it incredible to imagine that it has already been seven years! Yes, our relationship has endured some difficulties, but I think those difficulties worked out in our favor in the end. Our marriage is a much stronger force to reckon with than it ever has been in the past.

We got married on April 17, 2006 in the pastor’s office of the church we were attending at the time and had a small cook out at her parent’s house afterwards. Since then we have traveled together down Route 66, around New England, to Australia, Argentina, India and a few other places. Here are just a few pictures from some of our travels. I need to better organize what we have stored on DVDs, but that is a project for another day.

I am fiercely in love with Abigail. She challenges me to be a better husband, father, worker, friend and citizen. She encourages me to think outside the box. I am so happy that she hasn’t given up on me when I’ve wanted to quit everything, stay home and just watch TV. She helps me focus when I lose focus and reminds me to love others when my natural reaction to pain is retaliation.

Our current blessing (and challenge) is adjusting to life with a new addition to our home. Our child is obviously a more serious addition to the household than adding a pet, although there was a serious adjustment phase when we added our papillon four years ago.

Abigail, I love you and I can’t wait to see what the next 7 years will bring!
