I was in Virginia recently attending the Beer Now Conference (previously known as the Beer Bloggers & Writers Conference). On the last day of the post-conference trip in Richmond, VA, we were dropped off by the bus in front of a grocery store and given maps.

It started to rain as we arrived at The Veil Brewing‘s parking lot. The place looked busy so we took shelter under the tent of Ames Russell. His smart salesmanship led him to his greeting of “I’ll let ya’ll stay if you taste my honey.”

He then began to dole out samples of his Hot Southern Honey in varying intensities and flavors. I bought a bottle of Mild Original. It reminded me of my time in Oklahoma as a kid having Quaker Grits with honey as part of our weekend breakfasts.

A unique blend of pure Virginia produced honey and the mild heat of red chili peppers. Drizzle it on yogurt, cheese, pizza, and ice cream. Add it to marinades or as a glaze on beef, chicken, pork, or salmon. AR’s Hot Southern Honey THE SWEET HEAT of THE SOUTH!

It is sold locally around Richmond, but also online at HotSouthernHoney.com
