This year you can celebrate as a family and still have time for a parents-only party with a whole new set of New Year’s Eve countdowns, available today only on Netflix, designed for preschoolers, tweens and everyone in between. You choose when to say goodnight, and the kids choose how to celebrate with their favorite characters.
Visiting the Zoo Lights at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo is one of our annual traditions. We skip it when the winter’s are too cold to be outside at night comfortably for very long. This year, however, the December nights have been gorgeous for strolling around the zoo. We took a trip to the zoo earlier […]
One of the traditions we've started as a family is going to see the holiday trees at the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago every year. Mr. Dude loved seeing the trees this year.
I spent nine hours in the car on my birthday last month between 3:00 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. due to a family emergency. My father-in-law was in his last hours and my wife needed to be there with him. I picked her up from the airport and drove the 70 some odd miles through rush hour traffic […]

The first thing we did before the long trip north? We check-out of our hotel and then stopped for tacos. These tacos […]
We took a trip to San Francisco earlier this month and took a lot of photos. This is one of the shots I loved from the trip. Mr. Dude, our two-year-old, enjoyed our visit to the beach and was enthralled with the wet sand. This is a photo that I liked in color, but thought I'd use my desktop install of Photoshop to turn into black and white.
