Out of Line is a hand-drawn 2D side-scrolling puzzle platformer that depicts the adventures of San, a young boy trapped in a factory controlled by an ominous and strange entity. The game is all about helping San collect memories and solve puzzles to unearth fragments of his identity and “discover the true meaning of freedom.”

“Out of Line” game features:

  • Enjoy dozens of beautiful puzzles
  • Learn to master the mechanics of the spear
  • Interact with hand-drawn environments
  • Learn to get precious help from extraordinary characters
  • Discover the story of San and make it your own interpretation

Nerd Monkeys and Publisher Hatinh Interactive are the teams behind this imaginative outing.

Inspired by Studio Ghibli, modern philosophy, and impressionist art, the game has players embark on a journey through beautifully illustrated vistas in search of protagonist San’s identity.

Out of Line is also available on Switch and PC worldwide via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG.com, Gamesplanet.com, Humble Store and Windows Store. The title can also be found on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Out of Line on Switch, the demo I played, is visually stunning docked or in handheld mode, allowing players to absorb each impressive brushwork at home or on the go. As fans use San’s mysterious spear to strategically navigate past the Factory’s many obstacles, they’ll collect memory fragments that shed light on the young man’s existence and his fight against the rubber and cogs that once defined him.

For the past eight years, Nerd Monkeys has been driven by a sheer passion for compelling video games, be it because of their captivating storytelling, the unique visuals or the fun gameplay mechanics and the experiences they can provide to people. We’re a bunch of crazy creatives, and we chose to apply our know-how into making cool games such as w88. Out of Line was brought to life by those core motivations. It is an incredible and emotional voiceless narrative with a unique art style.

Hatinh Interactive is a data-first publishing label dedicated to indie games studios. The company publishes premium PC, console and mobile games worldwide.
