Best Buy has some of the coolest tech gifts around this holiday season. The DJI Mavic Pro, for example, is the best 4K drone on the market right now when you take cost, features, and support into account.

Best Buy sent me the DJI Mavic Pro Quadcopter with Remote Controller (Gray) recently. I’ve fallen in love with this thing. It retails for $999 and captures Ultra HD (4K) video at 30 fps with unbelievably smooth and crisp camera shots. Its FlightAutonomy technology uses ultrasonic range finders and vision sensors to proactively detect and avoid obstacles for safer, obstruction-free flight. This compact (and foldable) DJI Mavic Pro camera drone has a 7km transmission range thanks to its FCC-compliant remote controller.

The drone can be flown with the included controller, just a smartphone or both working together. The compact foldable design is lightweight and makes it easy to take anywhere. The DJI Mavic Pro’s 3-axis gimbal is capable of stabilizing the camera even during high-speed motion for smooth video and sharp photos. The OcuSync transmission technology allows streaming video to your smartphone up to 4.3 miles away. Set up tracking to shoot a friend (or yourself on a run), or head skywards for a quick flight using just your smartphone instead of the included controller.

The DJI GO Editor lets you edit video from the drone with just a few taps in and instantly share it with your friends. The DJI Mavic Pro’s 5 cameras, GPS and GLONASS, a pair of ultrasonic range finders, redundant sensors, and a group of 24 powerful, specialized computers make sure that your drone is flying safe.

Do you plan on getting a DJI Mavic Pro from Best Buy or asking Santa for one? Let me know in the comments!

Fly Responsibly: Before takeoff, update all software and firmware, and read the instructions thoroughly.
See the FAA website for requirements and information about flying a drone safely: https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/fly_for_fun/. Additional state or local requirements may apply.
