Living Life Is The Bravest Thing Anyone Can Do

Many of the things we do every day have the ability to end the successful (or not) run we've currently got going on in life.

Troomi Might Be Perfect for Your Family, But It Wasn’t for Mine

My son (5th grade) found a way to root the phone and remove most of the Troomi restrictions baring him from downloading apps like Roblox or surfing on the open web.

I’ve been blessed to have been able to take two weeks of vacation to ease into fatherhood without the added stress of my day job. I go back to work on Monday and I’m not exactly excited about leaving my little guy at home. I know he’ll be well cared for by my wife. Abigail is a very capable and loving mother. I’ll just miss being able to be around all the time to help Abigail out and spend time with Wesley all day. Let’s face it, I’ll miss the mid-day naps too.

There have been a bunch of firsts this week that I’d like to share with a few quick photos:

Wesley-Hand-Print

First hand prints taken.

Joel-Grocery-Store

First trip to the grocery store,

Joel-Mountain-Dew-Bottles

For some bottled Mountain Dew for Daddy.

Baby Got Colic

First white noise album purchase: “Baby Got Colic (White Noise for Babies)”
We got it from Amazon for $0.99 instead of from iTunes where it sells for $9.99.

Wesley-Wow

First tummy time without any much crying.

HouseOfCards

First time time we turned on the TV since brining Wesley home.
House of Cards. Amazing show. We watched all 13-episodes in two days!

Hearing-Test

First time passing hearing tests in each ear. Wesley failed the hearing test when first in the hospital. It turns out he just needed some time to clear out the ears. He was pretty worked up too, but thankfully Abigail was there this time. She was able to nurse him during the test and he passed with flying colors.

I hope that my transition back to work is a smooth one. I’d like to get a few blog posts up before Week Three. It has proven to be more difficult than I expected to do that. I’ve started several posts, but not finished any. Welcome to the life of a new dad blogger I suppose. I’m going to figure this thing out one of these days.

  1. Congrats on the amazing first 2 weeks! It will be hard to go to work for sure (and give up those naps;) but you’ll find your new normal real quick. Good luck!
