I’ve joined the Netflix #StreamTeam and have been compensated for writing this post. The childhood that my son is experiencing is much different than the one I did. He’s got touch screen computers and smart phones in the house. He gets to travel internationally and on all sorts of public transit. Mr. Dude, my son, […]
My schedule has been crazy busy recently. April will give me more of a chance to check out some seasons/shows on Netflix that I can't wait to see or see again.
Medieval Times invited us to attend a show at their Schaumburg, IL location last month and we gladly accepted. Mr. Dude had been once before, but was a bit too young to remember much. If you’ve never been it’s an event space focused on the storybook times of kings, knights, ladies and great feasts. Part […]
If you loved the original Full House you'll love Fuller House. It has all of the cheesy, predictable, family friendly fun of the original in an updated storyline... 29 years later.

I look forward to attending the Dad 2.0 Summit every year. It has been a great experience each time I’ve attended. The chance to meet fellow bloggers, marketers and industry experts is unparalleled for the price point. My first summit was like a reunion with all these guys I’d talked to online, but had never […]

The close friendships that I have now were made in my twenties or my teens. I’ve made many acquaintances since I turned thirty a few years ago, but […]
It hit me for the first time as I sat there in the waiting room of a medical diagnostics location a few blocks from my work. Abigail was in the back room getting blood work done to confirm what we already knew. The signs were all there. We couldn't ignore what was happening and simply hope the best would prevail. It wasn't going to get better or fix itself if we just gave it more time.
My wife and I signed up for a trial of Netflix during the winter storm that shut down most of Chicago for a couple of days back in 2011. We were snowed in, had plenty of food and wanted to try something new. Five years later we're still using Netflix to pass the time with or without snow on the ground.
We have a little dare devil on our hands. This was never more clear to us than the first time we took Mr. Dude into a fair type atmosphere where he was actually big enough to ride the rides. Standing at just over 36 inches (36.8" to be exact) Mr. Dude could ride many, but not all of the rides at Navy Pier's Winter Wonderfest last month.
