My wife, son and I met up with my wife’s mom at the county fair for the day last weekend. It’s an annual tradition that normally brings a larger group of family together, but was enjoyable just the same. I brought the new LG G4 Smartphone with me and shot a little video watching my son observe and interact with the world around him:
The video quality if amazing to me thanks to all the crazy camera specs on the phone including a f/1.8 aperture for impressive performance in low light situations, a manual mode with 15 settings and over 135 options for photo enthusiast level control over how photos are captured, RAW image file capture and an improved Laser Auto Focus. The rear facing camera is 16MP and the front camera is 8MP.
When taking still images there is a bit of a lag between the time you hit it and the time it takes the photo, but I got used to used to it pretty quickly. I loved how these images turned out, but I had to keep cleaning the camera lens constantly. The power and volume up/down buttons are directly next to the lens so I kept touching it when I was intending to adjust the camera’s volume or power up/down.
The phone is a pleasure to hold too. The gentle curved design makes for some serious ergonomic comfort. I feel like it just belongs in me hand vs me trying to hold on it. The phone comes with genuine leather, metallic and ceramic style back cover options for a premium look and feel. And the phone’s memory is upgradable memory up to 2TB with micro SD card and has a replaceable high capacity 3,000mAh battery.
