Guest Post: Ready or Not, He’s Here

So here's the thing. When your first child is 10 days late, you kind of expect that's how long your body gestates. I remember saying to Joel, "I have a friend whose first was 41+3 like Wesley and her second was only 40+3 so we better be ready a little early." Baby didn't know that was the plan.

“Daddy, you need your coffee.”

When a baby is born, a dad is born. I became a father just over three years ago. Mr. Dude's arrival into the world changed my life in ways I had never anticipated.

The post-40 weeks ultrasound was also good. Everything seems to be in order. The midwives, nurses and doctors […]

Packing My Hospital Bag for Labor and Delivery

Today I packed my hospital bag. After taking our birthing class I feel like I’ve been given the keys to a new car, but have no idea how to drive. I don’t REALLY  know what I’m getting myself into at the hospital do I? I’ve heard all kinds of stories and been given all kinds of […]

Birthday Brew: Part II

We bottled the beer this week. It was a process I’ve never taken part in before, but really enjoyed. We cleaned bottled, sanitized oxygen sealing caps, filled the bottles, etc. If the taste tests are any indications, it’s going to be amazing! Its smooth, dark and has a light coffee flavor. Now we just wait for the […]

Baby Name Announcement: Via Vine Video

I’m sure you have read the story behind Abigail’s surprise baby shower. In it I mentioned that we shared the name of our son. He’s due in March and we’ve been asked by people for months… “Boy or girl?” and “Have you picked out a name yet?” For the longest time we didn’t have the name picked out […]
