Amerika, I’m Disappointed In You…

I believed better of Amerika back in 2024. I didn't love Harris as a candidate, but knew then (and now) that she was the far better choice to Trump. The shock has turned into fear, then numbness, and now it is birthing rage.

Disclosure: I have partnered with Life of Dad and Pampers for this promotion.

Father’s day every year has me reminiscing about my fatherhood journey up to that point. This year I’ve been remembering how little Mr. Dude was at the beginning. How we went from strangers to friends. Take a small photo journey with me as I remember those first couple years with him.

The Saturday morning smiles.

The airplane ride to London.

The things I’d do to keep him asleep.

The 5K we did…

Those early days of fatherhood with my first were such a change from the child-free days. My priorities flipped. He taught me the importance of slowing down and paying attention to life around me. Work is important, but family is more important. Beautiful moments are happening all around us and he taught be to focus on them more. He was so little. My first mini me.

We bonded quickly and he loved to imitate me in every little thing.

I’ve always done my best to take care of my family and provide them with the connection that I valued so much from my parents as a kid. When a baby is born, a dad is born. Wes has been a constant companion to me in the kitchen since he was little.

He is there when I’m working from home.

He’s been all smiles for years when babywearing.

That time we got a new router and he “helped” get it setup.

Or just sleeping on my shoulder.

Now both of my boys bring me joy and stories galore. I can’t wait to share more with you about how thankful I am to them for that.
