White Christmas is a treasure trove of Irving Berlin’s most memorable songs, among them ‘Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep,’ ‘Sisters,’ ‘Mandy’ and the beloved holiday song, ‘White Christmas.’ Two talented song-and-dance men (Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye) team up after the war to become one of the hottest acts in show business. One winter they join forces with a sister act (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen) and trek to Vermont for a white Christmas. The result is stuff dreams are made of.
I grew up watching this movie with my family every holiday season as a kid. It’s an iconic part of American Christmas culture that I actually enjoy. The musical numbers and humor are just my speed too. The chemistry between Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby is enjoyable to watch. It just isn’t Christmas if I haven’t yet watched White Christmas at least once.
