I’ve been in love with monster trucks since I was a kid. The toys, the live events, and now the video games have brought a lot of joy into my life.
It’s raceday! Monster Truck Championship is available now in Europe (20th for North America and Canada) so buckle up and let’s get this show on the road! I was able to dig into Monster Truck Championship on the Nintendo Switch before Christmas this year and loved almost everything about it. Practice mode was a great place to start. I’m not a huge gamer, so the extra opportunity to learn the controls and get the dynamics of the game nailed down was fantastic.
A true Monster Truck simulation!

The team management and race entry gameplay seems pretty interesting to me. I never realized how complicated the monster truck business can be until digging in here. Luckily the game lets you simplify this if you want to save some time and just focus on driving like I enjoy.
The only thing I’d change in Monster Truck Championship is the inability to play multiplayer with others locally without additional Nintendo Switch console and copies of the game. It’s been designed for local single player gameplay and others to join in online.
Smashing cars, jumping ramps, racing, and more make this game for me. It reminds me of playing with toys as a kid and going to some of the live monster truck events we had before Covid. I would highly recommend this game for anyone who might enjoy driving over obstacles and doing tricks in a virtual environment like I do.
