UPDATED & CONFIRMED: GoldenEye 007 Coming to Xbox & Nintendo Switch Online with Online Multiplayer

It is finally coming to pass. The Rare classic GoldenEye 007 has an official UHD remake releasing soon.

Rare LTD (owned by Microsoft) confirmed today via the below YouTube video that the game is coming to Xbox.

“25 years after its original release, experience GoldenEye 007 faithfully recreated for Xbox consoles. Includes achievements, 4K resolution and a smoother framerate – even in split-screen local multiplayer! Coming soon to Xbox Game Pass.”

In today’s Nintendo Direct Press Release GoldenEye 007 was also mentioned:

James Bond’s official website mentioned this bit of information as well: “Exclusive to the new Switch version of the 1997 title will be online play, allowing 007 fans across the world to take part in the popular four person multiplayer mode together.”

I cannot express my level of excitement for this release. I do hope a local physical copy of the game will be released, but that hasn’t yet been confirmed.
