Larry Hass and his Magic Show at the Rhapsody Theater in Chicago

We got to attend a rather entertaining evening of magic and philosophy headlined by Larry Hass at the Rhapsody Theater in Chicago this summer as guests.

Larry Hass has performed for thousands of people all over the world, taught hundreds of magicians, written more than 15 books, presented a TEDx Talk, founded a college program about magic, and holds a PhD in philosophy.  He believes that the art of magic can be a  force for good in the world.

It was our first time attending an event at the Rhapsody Theater. It’s a nice venue with table service, customized drinks for the show currently playing, and an array of snacks. I had The Spirits of Houdini. It was bourbon, sweet Vermouth, Amaro and cherry juice.

The magic show was obviously an all ages show, but not all of thier shows are all ages so it’s good to check ahead before getting tickets. Parking was pretty painless as well. We found a spot right across the street without issue via SpotHero.

Larry was interacting with the crowd before the show and soliciting volunteers. SkyWaitress was among them. Later, after the show has been going for a while, she was brought on stage for a card trick.

The kids enjoyed the show immensely. They even got to participate at one point when some other volunteers where on stage and they asked “the brothers in the back” to make a choice in a card trick that was actively taking place on stage. The next morning each of the boys were awake and “preforming magic tricks” for us until lunchtime. It was adorable.

Have you ever been to the Rhapsody Theater or seen Larry Hass preform? Let me know in the comments and on social.
